PRESENTATION FORMAT

Free Communications: Only graduate and undergraduate students in biomechanics are eligible to present papers at the conference.  All papers will be presented in an oral, free communications format.  Each free communication presentation shall be 15 minutes in length.  For each presentation, 10 minutes will be allocated for the presentation and 5 minutes for discussion.

All oral presentations will take place in the Preus-Brandt Forum.

Faculty Panel: A panel of two faculty members will be appointed for each free communication session to facilitate the discussion period following the presentation. The role of the faculty panel is to guide and shape the discussion to: a) stimulate further inquiry by the student presenter and b) ensure that any potential criticism is delivered in a constructive and supportive manner.

Class Project Poster Presentations: To increase student participation in this year’s SCCB, a new session is being added.  A poster session for students to display student class projects will be held on Saturday, April 12th.  The intent of this session is to enable students who are very early in their research careers an opportunity to experience a conference setting and to be able to display their work.  It is expected that these are complete or nearly complete projects and that each student will be assigned a time to stand by their poster to answer questions that conference participants might have about their work.  All posters will be attached to boards that are approximately 4 feet wide.

This session will take place in the Lundring Event Center and will coincide with lunch.

Awards honoring the best original research and presentation by an undergraduate student and by a graduate student will be presented at the conclusion of the meeting.
